Winder Guard 2024 Audition/Camp Agreement

Winter Guard auditions are an opportunity for you to be involved in an extracurricular activity at Oak Harbor High School. We are excited for you to join us! More info HERE.

Camp is open to all high school students within the Oak Harbor School District who want to give dance, theater and spinning a try. No experience needed. Equipment is provided and we teach you everything you need to know.

This form must be submitted on or before the first day of Camp. The email address listed for the parent/legal guardian will receive a copy of this form via email.

In-Person Info Meeting: November 9 at 6:30pm in Band Room (D220)

Camp Dates: Nov 13 - 16: Times/Locations vary, see below:

Monday: 1:30pm - 4:00pm in Band Room (D220)
Tuesday: 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Elks Lodge
Wednesday: 5:30pm - 7:30pm in Band Room (D220)
Thursday (Audition Day): 5:00pm - 6:30pm in Band Room (D220)

What to Wear/Bring: work out clothing (no hoodies or jeans) & gym shoes, bring a water bottle & knee pads

This activity involves continuous movement throughout the whole body. If there are any health concerns or allergies (food/medication), please list that info here so we can assist correctly and as needed.
AUDITION INFO
Signing up for and/or attending Auditions/Camp is NOT making a commitment to stay as a member. Although we would love to take all students who decide to audition, the following must be taken into account by our staff while officially accepting members to be in the OHHS Winter Guard. Students must:

- Be in good standing with grades and attendance during previous school year.
- Be respectful to those in authority while at camp.
- Have a positive attitude while at camp.
- Don’t give up, keep trying until you get it.
- Actively participate at camp at all times (no sitting unless on break or given permission by instructors)
- Keep cell phones placed in backpack/bag until the end of camp. They may be accessed only during extended breaks.
- Let the instructor(s) know before camp day begins, (in private) about possible emergencies that may cause you to check your phone more often than at breaks.

These rules apply not only during camp, but throughout the Color Guard season.

Signatures are required from both student and their parent/legal guardian due to physical nature of the program and commitment to attend rehearsals and performances if student is accepted.
